Carol Ann Eickmeyer

Carol Ann Eickmeyer of Winston-Salem died February 25, 2026 at the age of 75. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 15, 1951, to Frederick William Eickmeyer and Ann Hamilton Sullivan Eickmeyer, both deceased. Carol was the eldest sister to Ellen and Barb Eickmeyer and beloved aunt to Julie and Emily.

Carol graduated from Hanover University in Indiana with a B.A. in Art History.

Carol loved her adopted home of Winston-Salem for the past 33 years. She was very involved in the community, including serving on the City-County Planning Board, volunteering with the Forsyth Democratic Party, serving as an election judge, creating a school garden at Diggs Latham School, serving as a leader in the Ardmore neighborhood association, and supporting numerous community nonprofits. Carol was a devoted member of Highland Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon, as well as a member of many of Highland’s committees. 

Carol was passionate about art of all types. Her creative interests included painting, crafting, and writing. She loved reading poetry with a warm mug of tea. Carol’s creativity and artistic abilities led her to produce a wide variety of art, which she happily shared and sold at neighborhood art sales. Several friends have her art on their walls and floors, since she loved painting floor art. 

Carol enjoyed visiting Wrightsville Beach and traveled as far as India and Morocco. While traveling, she enjoyed learning about other cultures and religions. 

Many in the community know her from Creative Transitions, the business she started to provide estate sales and to help people downsize.  

Carol was a passionate humanitarian, a loving aunt, and a wonderful neighbor. 

Her colorful creativity will be deeply missed.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Ellen Eickmeyer Shown and Barbara Eickmeyer Blalock (husband Tom), both of Cincinnati; her nieces and nephew Julie Shown Gustafson (husband T.J. Gustafson), Emily Shown Kuhn (husband Jerrod Kuhn), Katelynn Blalock, and Thomas Blalock III; and her great nieces and nephews Gray Gustafson, Stella Kuhn, Maxwell Kuhn and Ruby Kuhn. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, February 26, at 2 pm at Highland Presbyterian Church.
